I'm glad to know that you and other Clockworkers patched things up even if you guys drifted apart. I remember those days fondly as a reader. I enjoy hearing your process, please keep posting.
To save anyone a Google, here's what Wikipedia says about the meaning of Naulakha:
"Kipling named Naulakha after the book he wrote with Wolcott Balestier, his good friend and Mrs. Kipling's brother, about a precious Indian jewel, and it is filled with a trove of their possessions." Etymologically Naulakha means "nine lakhs" or "nine hundred thousand" being the amount of rupees incurred for the cost of construction of the building.
I seem to recall reading some digests of the CWSB retreat and how it resulted in the consumption of trays of lasagnas. Glad you all have such fond memories of it, and even if you're not trying to re-live quite the same experience, future retreats are as enjoyable and productive!
This sounds downright marvelous! I write pop culture biographies, not fiction, but if this goes from dream to reality and you're looking for new blood...
I hope I’m on the short list. I miss the retreats, too.
