The Commissions List is Open
I have no clever subtitle for this post — not even a good pun to draw upon.
No, this isn’t a sample of a commission. It’s a Lark’s Killer cover I drew once, posted here because I dislike posting new articles without colorful images, and there are no pictures available of me drawing actual commissions.
We begin…
Ladies and gentlemen, my commissions list is open and available starting right now. As in the past, there are some rules and conditions. For the complete set of rules you’ll need to email my pal Brad Thomte, but here are some of the highlights and changes of note:
Let’s get the bad news out of the way first. The price has gone up. It’s now $1000 per commission.
In past rounds I’d get a lot of requests to add more characters to a single-character commission. I think the reasoning was: because I tend to do that anyway, why not let the customer ask for specific extra characters? Let’s be clear about how this works: If you commission a single character work of original art, it costs $1000. If you ask for additional characters it costs an additional $1000 per character. However, if I decide to add additional characters, or a more complex background, or whatever, it doesn’t cost you extra, because that’s something I decided on my own to do.
Because of recent medical complications (the inevitable price of letting myself grow old), the wait might be longer, between the time you place a commission and the time I deliver it. I’ve slowed down a bit. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. In order to be extra careful this time out, Brad has been instructed to pause the list any time it reaches four commissions. Yes, I may end up doing more than that, opening the list back up in fits and starts, as another job is completed and sent out, but never more than four jobs ahead of me at a time.
You have to be a subscriber here to participate. It’s free, so it shouldn’t be too much of a hardship, neh?
Okay then, that’s all of the bad news I can think of for now. If you’d like to get on the list, email Brad Thomte at: nohtscamp@gmail.com He’ll reply with the full set of pesky rules and conditions.
Looks like I’m drawing old school Aquaman first. He has so many great villains, I wonder who’ll show up with him in this pic?
I’ve loved your work going back to the D&D days. Last summer I got a copy of Art and Arcana, brought back a lot of great memories. This is a bit steep for me, but perhaps one day, for the memories.
